Good day,

I am planning on visiting the Lofoten in mid-September this year. I will have done part of Kungsleden (Abisko to Kvikkjokk) in Sweden prior to this, and will arrive via train in Narvik. Estimating I have done Kunglseden in a bout 2 weeks, I will have a good week left for the Lofoten.

Currently my main idea would be to spend the first 3 days of this in Hinnøya, then a day near Svolvaer/Kabelvåg and the remaining days in Moskenesøya, ending the trip by taking the ferry to Bodø.

Some questions:

-How easy or difficult to arrange is public transport (by bus only I suppose) from Narvik to Hinnøya (my getting off point would be near Austre Kanstad) and then from Hinnøya (probably Harstad) to Svolvaer/Kabelvåg and then from there to Moskenesøya (probably Fredvang).

I do not favor renting a car as my starting and ending point are not the same, plus the hikes I am planning on doing are not loops.

-I am more of a map walker than a GPS one, so which map is recommended for what I am planning? Is there one that both includes Hinnøya as well as the entire Lofoten? Would be nice if there was a map that includes locations of the mountain huts.

-Concerning these huts/cabins along the trails; are these open for use and spending the night for everyone without advance booking? Or is there a registration needed of which I am currently unaware?

Finally, sorry if this has been asked before, but seems this site is high on French, which is a language I don't really master :)

Thank you for your time
