Hi All!

I'm travelling from Canada in a couple weeks and planning 6 days of hiking in the Lofoten Islands. I will be camping throughout. My planned hikes are Munken, Hermannsdalstinden, Horseid Beach, Bunes Beach, Reinebringen, Marken, and Helvetestind. I am looking for any tips anyone may have for these hikes and what the conditions will be on them mid to late June.

Thanks :)

Hi,

The hikes: Munken, Horseidet will be safe when you are there (are already safe), free (or almost free) of snow. We have had some very warm days last week (up to 17 °C), and snow has melted

Helvetestind: I would stop at Brunakseltinden, the top just before, Helvetestind is Dangerous.

Reinebringen: is dangerous and I would not call it a hike but just a steep climb. Wouldn't recommend anybody to go up there (you can get rocks on your head or make rock fall on other hikers). It is better to go up to the Summit of Veinestinden (the view is even better on the Reinefjord, and the hike is safer, even if more challenging/harder physically).

I think that Moskenes kommune has forbiden the access to the top at the moment.

Could you tell me which "Marken" you are talking about? Several places are called Marken.

For Hermandalstinden: I do not know how the snow conditions will be in end of June. But if there is any snow on the last ridge up to the summit, you shouldn't climb it. At the moment, it is not safe to go up there.
