Hello. This is Greg and I will be visiting from the US in July to enjoy this incredibly beautiful area. I will be bringing a fishing pole. Are there any licenses or permits required to fish in the fresh water lakes and streams or in the ocean?

Hei Greg,

You will find some info on this page.

You don't need any permit here to fish with your fishing pole in the sea. Most of the lakes are also free of permits (unless clearly specified), but you need permit to fish in rivers and streams, specially when salmons are coming up stream.

In the Lofoten, with a bit skill, you can leave on your catches :)
