I will go to Ballstad on March 24 for a week. Can anyone please tell me, what I can do best, for hiking over there?
Is there an adress I should best go to? Can I hire equipment over there?

Hello,
At Ballstad there are several places to stay.
I can suggest the fishermen family “Iversen”, they have some authentic rorbuer:

I would advise you to take some snowshoes with you in case there is much snow, and also a pair of mini crampons if there is not much snow (the ground will be frozen).
We have added on some of the hiking descriptions a "snowshoe" symbol. This means that this walk if possible in winter.
I do not know were you can rent snowshoes on the Lofoten Islands. Maybe you can rent some at the sport shops in Leknes (near Ballstad) or in Svolvaer. I read somewhere that Svinoya rorbuer is renting snowshoes (but that is in the north of the Lofoten, in Svolvaer).
