Hi everybody,

we will do the Lofoten long crossing in July and are already very excited! I wanted to ask if it's absolutely necessary to have a GPS device during the hike? If yes, which device can you recommend (ideally one that is not too expensive, but has the most important features).

Thanks a lot

Hi :)

I would recommend a Garmin hiking GPS. Maybe you could find a second hand one?

And yes, I would recommend a GPS unless you are used to hike only with maps and that you can “read” the landscape when there are not clear paths.

Good luck and enjoy the Lofoten Islands!!
